Jesus Suffered as the Rejected Servant (Is. 53:1-3)
- Jesus came to earth in humility to a people that did not recognize or accept Him.
- Jesus’ experience on earth was marked by grief and rejection.
Jesus Suffered as our Sin-Bearing Servant (Is. 53:4-6)
- Jesus entered into our sorrows and griefs by bearing the weight of our sin.
- Jesus’ death led to our spiritual healing and our sins being forgiven.
Jesus Succeeded as our Victorious Savior (1 Peter 2:24-25)
- Jesus’ death was effective to save us, empower us to die to sin, and live righteously.
- In Jesus, we have a Shepherd who loves and pursues us.
