Preacher: Jeff Fitzgerald Series: Stand Alone Topic: God's Love Scripture: Romans 8:31–39
Text: Romans 8:31-39
What then shall we say to these things?
- Our Justification, sanctification, and our glorification is tied back to “No condemnation.”
- “Nothing” – What can we say?
- “Everything” – We should be in continuous praise and live for Christ.
If God is for us, who can be against us?
- “If” God is for us?
- This can mean “Since” or “Because”
- Psalm 118:6 “…What can man do to me?”
He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all – how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?
- Paul is providing evidence
- God’s “own” Son shows sacrifice.
Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
- Brings us to a court setting – Who brings a charge/ Who accuses?
- Accusations, though may be true, will not stand which would cause our justification to be reversed.
Who is to condemn?
- Is not saying, No one will condemn, or even that the condemnation would not be deserved.
- God justifies us due to what Jesus did FOR us (crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, and intercession of Christ)
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
- Nothing/No one can ever separate us from the love of Christ.
- We are called to be “More” than conquerors.
