The Author of Titus

  • Paul was redeemed by God’s grace and became a missionary for the Gospel’s sake.

The Audience of Titus

  • Paul wrote the book to a pastor named Titus, whom he left to establish churches on the island of Crete.
  • It was most likely written between A.D. 62-64, just before his eventual martyrdom.
  • While it is written to a pastor, it is written for the church.

The Aim of Titus

  • Titus can be divided up into two components: Doctrine and Devotion
  • This book demonstrates the seamless connection between healthy doctrine and holy behavior.
  • This works itself out in a healthy church with Godly leadership.
